Fabio Colivicchi

Fabio Colivicchi is a Professor and Acting Head of the Department of Classics & Archaeology at Queen's University (2025-2025). He holds a Ph.D. in Greek and Roman Archaeology from the University of Perugia and has held academic roles since 2001, including Professor (2016–present), Associate Professor (2011–2016), and Assistant Professor (2006–2011) at Queen's. His research focuses on urbanization, Greek colonies in Italy, Etruscan archaeology, and Roman imperialism.

His fieldwork includes directorship of excavations at Cerveteri (Etruscan cult areas), Altamura (archaic necropolis), and Li Castelli (Neolithic settlement). He has organized conferences such as the 2009 session on Native Southern Italy at the Roman Archaeology Conference. His publications explore topics like Hellenistic-Roman cultural interaction, Etruscan material culture, and ancient trade networks. Colivicchi also maintains part-time appointments in Italian universities and collaborates on projects like the Caere Excavation Project in Italy.
