معرفی
Fabio Costa is a Research Fellow at the Institut de Physique et Chimie des Matériaux de Strasbourg (IPCMS), University of Strasbourg, affiliated with the departments of Magnetic Objects on the NanoScale (DMONS) and Surfaces and Interfaces (DSI). His research focuses on nanoscale phenomena in 2D materials using scanning tunneling microscopy to engineer luminescence properties through defect and interface manipulation.
Education History:
- Ph.D. in Physics, University of Campinas, Brazil (2020-2024)
- M.Sc. in Physics, Federal University of Bahia, Brazil (2017-2020)
- B.Sc. in Physics, Federal University of Bahia, Brazil (2012-2017)
- Research Internship, Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research, Germany (2023-2024)
- Internship, University of Dundee, Scotland (2014-2015)
Research Focus: Costa specializes in luminescence mechanisms of 2D heterostructures, employing advanced STM techniques to probe nanoscale features like defects and twisted interfaces. His current project investigates STM-induced luminescence in engineered van der Waals heterostructures to control light emission at atomic scales.
Publication Trends: His recent articles (2021-2025) predominantly explore 2D material physics (WSe₂, h-BN), diamond superconductivity, and nanoscale characterization. Research employs both experimental methods (STM, optical spectroscopy) and theoretical modeling, with consistent focus on material defects, dielectric environments, and substrate interactions.
Laboratory Affiliations: Works within the DMONS and DSI research teams at IPCMS, specializing in nanomagnetism and surface/interfacial phenomena.
