Fabin Dang

Fabin Dang, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics and Genome Sciences at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and a member of the Molecular Oncology Program at the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. He joined the institution in June 2024 after completing his postdoctoral training and serving as an Instructor at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Dang earned his PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2017. Following this, he completed postdoctoral training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School from September 2017 to May 2021, and then served as an Instructor in the Department of Pathology at the same institution from June 2021 to May 2024.

Dr. Dang's research primarily focuses on understanding the intricate crosstalk between cancer metabolism and antitumor immunity. His laboratory investigates how metabolic status of cancer and immune cells influences antitumor immunity through protein post-translational modifications, intracellular trafficking of membrane proteins, and epigenetic regulation in tumorigenesis. His ultimate goal is to develop novel targeted therapeutic strategies for clinical translation to combat cancer.

His publication record demonstrates significant contributions to understanding cell death pathways, cancer metabolism, and immune regulation. His recent work explores palmitoylation and phosphorylation in inflammasome activation, metabolic regulation of cell death, and mechanisms of drug resistance in cancer.

Dr. Dang has been actively involved in research collaborations with prominent institutions including Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. His work spans multiple disciplines including molecular oncology, immunometabolism, and cell signaling pathways relevant to cancer therapy.
