Fabien Miomandre is a Full Professor at the École Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay, serving as Director of its Chemistry Department (2007–2011 and 2016–present) and Director of the PPSM laboratory since 2015. He holds a Dr. in Electrochemistry from Université Grenoble 1 (1995) and a Habilitation à Diriger les Recherches from Université Paris 6 (2006). His research focuses on conjugated molecules/polymers, electrochemistry-fluorescence microscopy coupling, and nanoparticle functionalization for energy storage applications.
Scientific roles include membership in the CNRS National Committee (section 13), leadership of the CNRS Groupement de Recherche ‘Photoelectrostimulation’, and board membership in the French Chemical Society’s Electrochemistry subdivision. Notable awards include the 2007 French Chemical Society Prize for Best Young Electrochemist.
His work bridges electrochemical and optical techniques, with contributions to electrofluorochromic systems, nanomaterials for energy storage, and plasmon-driven material synthesis. Current projects emphasize functionalizing graphene and nanoparticles for high-performance energy storage devices.
