Fabian Spreier serves as a Researcher at the Department of Contemporary History within the Historical Seminar at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, where he has held a Research Associate position since 2013 and concurrently served as Research Officer for the project "Westphalian Notaries in the Nazi Era" since September 2013.
His academic foundation includes a State Examination in History and Catholic Theology obtained in January 2013 from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, following interdisciplinary studies in History, Catholic Theology, and Philosophy from 2007 to 2013.
Spreier's scholarly focus centers on three interconnected domains:
- 20th Century Legal History, particularly examining institutional frameworks under National Socialism
- Mentalities and Social History through the lens of societal transformations
- Church and Religious History with emphasis on Catholic institutions during turbulent political eras
Teaching contributions include conducting the Summer Semester 2013 exercise "Fundamentals, Theories and Methods of History," demonstrating his commitment to historical methodology instruction despite his primary research orientation.
