معرفی
Eylül MALKOÇ is an Associate Professor at Trakya University's Faculty of Architecture, Department of Landscape Architecture, specializing in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing applications in environmental and urban planning. She holds a PhD in Landscape Architecture from Ege University and completed postdoctoral research at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research.
- Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, Ege University (2009)
- MSc in Geographic Information Systems in Environmental Management, CIHEAM (2011)
- PhD in Landscape Architecture, Ege University (2017)
- Postdoctoral Research, ETH Zurich & Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research (2021)
Her research focuses on climate change adaptation through forest monitoring, urban ecology, sustainable land use planning, and GIS applications in landscape architecture. She has pioneered studies on remote sensing techniques for land-cover change analysis, morphological fragmentation of agricultural lands, and tree mapping outside forests using satellite data.
Her recent publications highlight trends in urban tree cover assessment via web-based GIS tools, remote sensing accuracy evaluation for continental forest mapping, and interdisciplinary approaches to historic landscape characterization. These works emphasize environmental monitoring, data integration, and sustainable urban development.
- TUBITAK 2211-C Domestic PhD Scholarship Program
- TUBITAK COST Project No. 109Y210 Scholar
- CIHEAM Project Scholar at Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania
She has taught courses including Environmental Impact Assessment, Remote Sensing in Landscape Planning, Urban Open and Green Space Planning, and Landscape Design Studio. Her projects with TUBİTAK and CIHEAM demonstrate her expertise in land use modeling and climate change mitigation strategies.
