Evie Ackery is a PhD researcher at the Hertie School, focusing on the intersection of economics and climate policy. Her research examines incentives for land-based carbon dioxide removal strategies, such as afforestation. She holds a first-class BA in Geography from the University of Oxford and is currently supervised by Prof. Johanna Arlinghaus, PhD. Prior to her PhD, she worked as a Civil Servant in the UK, bridging academia and government policy. Since 2022, she has been pursuing a Master of Public Policy (MPP) at the Hertie School while conducting research at the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change.
Her academic journey includes a dual focus on policy translation and climate solutions, leveraging her background in geography and public policy. Evie’s work emphasizes practical applications of climate science in governance frameworks, particularly addressing land-use policies.
