Aneeque Javaid

Aneeque Javaid is a Researcher at the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC) in Berlin and a guest Research Scholar at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in Vienna. His research focuses on multidimensional sustainability challenges, including environmental sustainability, climate change mitigation policies (particularly urban emissions), circular economics, and lifestyle changes. He also explores sustainable water and land management practices and their intersections with women's empowerment.

He holds a doctoral degree from Jacobs University Bremen (2016), where his dissertation examined sustainable fishing practices in Zanzibar, Tanzania. Beyond research, Aneeque advises policymakers at multiple government levels on sustainability, climate action, and gender-related initiatives.
