Evi Germeni is a Professor in Qualitative Methods for Health Research at the University of Glasgow, affiliated with the School of Social & Political Sciences and the Health Economics and Health Technology Assessment (HEHTA) group. She leads the Incorporating Perspectives and Experiences (IPE) research programme, focusing on integrating patient and public perspectives into healthcare decision-making. Her academic roles include co-coordinating the 'Qualitative Research Methods for HTA' MSc module and the 'Qualitative Research Methods' MPH module.
Education: BSc in Psychology, MSc in Communication and Media Studies, PhD in Health Communication. Research interests span qualitative methodologies in health, patient engagement in health technology assessment (HTA), systematic reviews, and lifestyle interventions for vulnerable populations. She has held positions at institutions including the University of Oxford and University of Lugano.
Her work emphasizes cross-sectional and longitudinal qualitative research, particularly in chronic disease management, healthcare access, and the application of qualitative evidence in HTA submissions. Recent projects include studies on medical migration, AI in radiology, and barriers to sexual health services in Asia-Pacific countries.
Grants include leadership in the NIHR Methodology Incubator’s Qualitative Workstream and contributions to the EVIS Trial and BEHOLD TSET projects. Awards include a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (Distinction, 2021) and fellowships from the Swiss National Science Foundation.
Professional activities include membership in Health Technology Assessment International (HTAi) and the Society for Research Synthesis Methodology (SRSM), alongside roles in steering committees for national health initiatives.
