معرفی
Evelyn Bridget Parr is a Senior Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Centre for Exercise and Nutrition within the Faculty of Health Sciences. Her research focuses on the interplay between nutrition timing, exercise interventions, and metabolic health, particularly in populations with diabetes, cancer cachexia, and metabolic disorders. She has conducted numerous randomized controlled trials examining the effects of time-restricted eating, intermittent fasting, and exercise on blood glucose regulation, muscle protein synthesis, and cardiometabolic outcomes.
Her work spans studies involving individuals with Type 2 Diabetes, McArdle Disease, and advanced cancer, evaluating how dietary strategies and exercise regimes impact chronic disease management. Collaborations include investigations into high-intensity interval training for polycystic ovary syndrome and the qualitative experiences of patients undergoing exercise programs. Parr’s research emphasizes translational outcomes, aiming to bridge nutritional science and clinical practice.
Key contributions include pioneering studies on meal timing interventions, the metabolic effects of acute hypoxia during exercise, and the role of timing in dietary strategies for chronic conditions. Her interdisciplinary approach integrates physiology, nutrition science, and exercise physiology to address complex health challenges.
