معرفی
Evelien Kidess is a Researcher at the Host-Microbe Interactomics department of Wageningen University & Research. Her research focuses on understanding the role of IL-22 signaling in maintaining gut epithelial barrier integrity under healthy and inflammatory conditions. Using the zebrafish model, she investigates how IL-22 mediates interactions between the gut microbiota, immune system, and metabolic processes. This work aims to uncover mechanisms underlying diseases like inflammatory bowel disease and obesity, with implications for developing strategies to strengthen intestinal barrier function.
Her project is supervised by Dr. Sylvia Brugman (Host-Microbe Interactomics) and Dr. Vincent de Boer (Human Animal Physiology). She is based at the Zodiac building (E1206) in Wageningen, reachable via telephone at +31317488880.
Key research themes include cytokine regulation, host-microbe dynamics, and epithelial metabolism. Her work bridges fundamental immunology with translational applications in gut health preservation.
