Evans Tindana Awuni

Evans Tindana Awuni is a Lecturer and Postdoctoral Researcher at the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy at the University of Erfurt. As a political economist, his work bridges technological change, social policy, and socioeconomic development, with a regional focus on Africa. He is affiliated with the Gerhard Haniel Chair of International Development and Public Policy and maintains ties with the German Institute of Global and Area Studies (GIGA).

Research Focus: His scholarship explores digitalisation and green transition impacts on labour markets, social protection systems, and inequality in low- and middle-income countries. This includes fieldwork in Ghana and Liberia on topics like Religion, Conflict, and Sustainable Peace.

Teaching Excellence: Recognized with the 2024 Faculty of Economics, Law and Social Sciences Teaching Prize for courses such as Policies for Fighting Poverty and Inequality and How to Make Aid Policies Smarter, he emphasizes student engagement and practical relevance. His teaching spans Microeconomics, Labour Economics, and Policy Analysis since Winter Semester 2021/22.
