Evan Curtis

Evan Curtis is an Assistant Professor of Art specializing in Animation and Digital Filmmaking at Colorado Mesa University. His work explores themes of home and human interaction with changing landscapes through stop-motion animation. He holds an MFA from Savannah College of Art and Design and a BFA from Purchase College.

His films, showcased at festivals like SXSW and PBS, reflect exploratory narratives influenced by outdoor conservation work with at-risk youth. He previously taught in New Mexico and Utah, and interned at Blue Sky Studios and Adult Swim.

Outside academia, he advocates wilderness exploration and leads trail conservation initiatives. His creative process integrates personal adventures in the Adirondack Mountains and Montana.
