Sunita Prasad is an Assistant Professor of Film at Purchase College's School of Film and Media Studies. As a Brooklyn-based filmmaker and video artist, she combines creative practice with academic mentorship, focusing on documentary and experimental cinema.

Her work spans film editing and directing, characterized by innovative storytelling and technical excellence. Films she has edited have achieved critical acclaim through theatrical releases, Sundance/SXSW/Tribeca festival screenings, and distribution on HBO, Hulu, PBS, and Arte. Her directorial projects have exhibited internationally at venues like Palais de Tokyo, Centre Clark, and Flux Factory.
