Prof. Eva Syková, M.D., Ph.D., D.Sc., is a leading academic at Charles University and the Institute of Experimental Medicine of the Czech Academy of Sciences. She serves as Director of the Institute of Experimental Medicine, Chairman of the Department of Neuroscience at the Second Faculty of Medicine, and Head of the Center for Cell Therapy and Tissue Repair.
- Education: M.D. (1970) from Charles University, Ph.D. (1976) and D.Sc. (1990) from Czech institutions.
Her research spans Neuroscience, Physiology, and Regenerative Medicine, focusing on CNS ionic homeostasis, glial cell roles, stem cell therapies, and biomaterial applications. She pioneered studies on extracellular space dynamics and nanoparticles in MRI.
Prof. Syková has received numerous accolades, including the Purkynje Medal (2003), Janssen-Cilag Awards (1997, 2005), and memberships in prestigious societies like Academia Europea (1999) and European Academy of Sciences (2002). She has organized 20+ international conferences and 5 workshops for young scientists.
