As an active performer-educator, Pokorny balances his Chicago Symphony responsibilities with teaching duties at Northwestern. He mentors emerging brass players through the Talos Brass quintet (which advanced to MTNA finals in January 2023) and maintains ongoing involvement in brass seminars worldwide. His educational initiatives include developing workbook CDs and maintaining the decade-long Pokorny Seminar tradition at Redlands.
