Eugene C. Nelson is a Professor of Community and Family Medicine at the Geisel School of Medicine and the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice at Dartmouth College. He directs Population Health and Measurement at the Dartmouth Institute and leads initiatives to advance coproduction in healthcare.

Nelson co-founded the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and pioneered clinical microsystem thinking in the 1990s.
