Glyn Elwyn is a clinician and researcher co-directing the Coproduction Laboratory at The Dartmouth Institute, Geisel School of Medicine, Dartmouth College. He holds chair appointments at multiple international institutions, including the Scientific Institute for Quality of Healthcare (University Nijmegen Medical Centre, Netherlands), UniSante University (Switzerland), Cochrane Institute for Primary Care and Public Health (Cardiff University), and University College London.

Elwyn develops innovative tools like collaboRATE (a patient experience measure for shared decision making) and Observer OPTION-5 (a tool for analyzing recorded clinical encounters). He created Option Grids™, patient decision aids licensed to EBSCO in 2017, and recently explored how patient recordings during visits enhance decision-making roles. His work spans health policy, clinical practice, and healthcare technology implementation.
He is the lead editor of the seminal text Shared Decision Making: Evidence-Based Patient Choice (Oxford University Press, 3rd edition, 2016). His interests include certifying knowledge tools and advising healthcare IT organizations like EBSCO, Abridge, and Fora Health.
