Ettore Mazzola is a Professor of the Practice at the University of Notre Dame School of Architecture since 2001, specializing in restoration, traditional architecture, and urban design. Based in Rome, he practices architecture and collaborates with S.I.D. Consulting on sustainable urban projects across Russia and Italy.
His research spans Architectural History and Theory, Classical Antiquity, Historic Preservation, Sustainable Architecture and Urbanism, and Urban Design, emphasizing the integration of historical practices in contemporary sustainable development. He advocates for traditional urbanism principles through scholarly work and practical applications.

Professor Mazzola teaches core design studios and specialized courses including Urbanism and Architecture of Ancient Rome, Modern Rome, and Advanced Graphic techniques. His expertise has been featured in documentaries by Fox News, BBC, and RAI, examining historical urbanism and architectural heritage. He actively advises students in architectural design and urban planning projects.
He serves on the Scientific Board of International Making Cities Livable, the Commission for Urbanism of Rome (Italia Nostra Sezione Romana), and the INTBAU College of Traditional Practitioners, driving initiatives in sustainable urban development and heritage conservation.
