Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solidsمعرفی
Eteri Svanidze is a Research Professor and Minerva Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids. Her research focuses on designing novel strongly correlated materials, unconventional superconductors, and complex magnetic systems. She leads the Minerva REALM Group, specializing in crystal growth and advanced material characterization techniques. Svanidze holds a PhD in Applied Physics from Rice University (2015), an MS from the same institution (2011), and a BS in Physics and Mathematics from SUNY Fredonia (2009). Her postdoctoral work included a Fulbright Research Chair at McMaster University (2016) and roles at the Max Planck Institute prior to her current position (2017–2019).
Her research interests span the synthesis and properties of superconductors, topological insulators, and magnetic materials. Recent work highlights include investigations into heavy-fermion systems, pressure effects on superconductors like BeAu, and structural studies of novel intermetallic compounds. Svanidze’s contributions advance the understanding of quantum materials and their applications in energy and technology.
Publications highlight advancements in crystallography, electronic structure, and material synthesis, with a focus on experimental techniques like muon-spin spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. Her team’s work bridges theoretical predictions with experimental validation, driving discoveries in correlated electron systems.
While no scientific awards are explicitly listed, her prolific publications and leadership roles reflect significant contributions to the field. Ongoing projects include exploring noncentrosymmetric superconductors and developing methods for synthesizing complex materials under controlled conditions.
