معرفی
Prof. Dr. Elena Hassinger is a Professor leading the Chair of Low-Temperature Physics of Complex Electron Systems at Dresden University of Technology (TU Dresden) within the School of Science & Mathematics and Institute of Solid State and Materials Physics. Established in 2022, her research chair is part of the excellence cluster 'Complexity and Topology in Quantum Matter' (ct.qmat) and the collaborative research center 'Correlated Magnetism: from Frustration to Topology' (SFB1143). Part of her research group operates at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids (MPI CPfS) under a Max Planck Fellowship.
Her research specializes in experimental investigations of bulk electronic and magnetic properties of unconventional metals, magnets and superconductors under extreme conditions. She detects electronic properties of crystals down to 0.01 degrees above absolute zero, with expertise in quantum oscillations that provide microscopic information on electronic states in clean metals. Her work spans Emergent states in strongly correlated electron systems, Unconventional superconductivity, Heavy fermion systems, Quantum magnets, and Topological states.
Prof. Hassinger leads two primary research groups: one focusing on chemistry and physics of actinide compounds (with Grin, Doert, Svanidze) and another investigating quantum criticality (with Brando, Khim, Mackenzie, Klauß, Davis, Vojta, Meng, Wosnitza, Gibbs, Nicklas, Noad). Her laboratory utilizes extreme sample environments with very low temperatures, high magnetic fields, and high pressure combined with high sensitivity measurement techniques.
She supervises PhD students on projects including 'Unconventional states explored by thermal transport' in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Andrew Mackenzie. Her research is supported by the excellence cluster ct.qmat and collaborative research center SFB1143, indicating substantial grant funding. She maintains dual institutional offices at TU Dresden (Recknagel Bau, C-wing, room C012, Haeckelstr. 3, 01069 Dresden) and MPI CPfS (Nöthnitzer Str. 40, 01187 Dresden).
