Esther Fay McMahon

Dr Esther Fay McMahon is a Lecturer in Education Studies within the School of Human and Social Sciences at the University of West London. She holds a doctorate in Education from the University of Bath and has interdisciplinary training from Goldsmiths, University of London (Arts & Humanities) and UCL (Social Sciences).

Dr McMahon's research expertise centers on the social brain, classroom talk, inclusive education, and cross-cultural ethics. Her work is informed by her background in developing special educational needs best practice for Children's Services, leading to a strong focus on applied research and participatory methods.

She is actively involved in research through her role as a Research Associate at the Centre for Innovation in Childhood & Youth (CIRCY) at the University of Sussex and as a member of the British Association for International & Comparative Education (BAICE).

In teaching, Dr McMahon contributes to a range of undergraduate programs including BA (Hons) Early Years Education, BA (Hons) Education Studies, and courses on Understanding Education in the UK and Special Educational Needs in Early Years.
