Dr. Esther Chávez-Miranda is an Associate Professor at the University of Seville's Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences, where she has taught since 2000. She directs the Diploma in Revenue Management in Hotels, leading a consortium of 24 industry and academic experts. Her research specializes in Revenue Management, with applications in tourism, hospitality pricing, and big data analytics.
She teaches in multiple graduate programs including the Master's in Hotel Management, Tourism Management, and Advanced Business Management. She also guest lectures internationally at institutions like ESIC, University of Cádiz, and Italy's Associazione Albergatori.
Her research explores:
- Dynamic pricing models using online booking data
- Big data econometrics for hotel room rates
- Implementation barriers for revenue management systems
- Scholarly trends in tourism revenue research
She received the Extraordinary Doctoral Award for her thesis, which became Spain's first book on hotel Revenue Management. Industry collaborations include partnerships with Beonprice, IDeaS, STR, and major hotel chains.
