Esteban Bopp is a Research Fellow in geography at the Université de Franche-Comté, affiliated with the UMR ThéMA research unit. Previously, he completed his PhD at Avignon Université under Johnny Douvinet at the UMR ESPACE, focusing on risk alert systems in France. His research combines quantitative geography tools like geomatics and spatial analysis to study urban green spaces' usage and spatial inequalities in disaster alert systems. He holds a grant from the PACA region for a one-year postdoctoral project.
Education:
- PhD in Geography, Avignon Université (2017–2021)
- Masters in Risk Management
Research Interests: Spatial modeling of urban green spaces, real-time risk communication technologies (e.g., Cell Broadcast), and geostatistical analysis of spatial disparities. His work bridges environmental planning and disaster management, emphasizing equitable access to alert systems and green infrastructure.
Awards:
- Youth Innovation Grant (PACA Region, 2022)
Labs/Teams: Collaborates with UMR ThéMA (Université de Franche-Comté) and UMR ESPACE (Avignon Université). Active in science communication, including academic conferences and public outreach on risk management.
