Dr. Esranur Efeoglu-Ozcan serves as a Visiting Research Fellow at the School of Education, Communication & Society within King's College London's Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy, affiliated with the Research Centre for Language, Discourse & Communication (LDC), a major hub for descriptive and applied linguistics research.
Her research specializes in crisis discourses spanning climate change, forced displacement, and geopolitical/ideological conflicts, alongside youth language phenomena including linguistic variation, evolutionary patterns, and sociolinguistic ideologies. She employs advanced methodologies such as corpus-assisted discourse analysis, critical discourse analysis, and metaphor analysis. Currently collaborating with Dr. Chris Tang, she investigates comparative climate change discourses in Türkiye and the UK through corpus-based approaches.
Dr. Efeoglu-Ozcan co-founded and co-convener of the Discourse and Corpus Research Group (DISCORE) and serves as co-convener for the Corpus and Beyond seminar series, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue in discourse studies.
