Dr Ernie Wong is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the National Heart & Lung Institute, Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London. He serves as a Consultant Respiratory Physician and leads the Asthma program at St Mary's Hospital.
- Education: Graduated from Imperial College School of Medicine in 2006 with merits
- Training: Foundation and core medical training in North West Thames, followed by specialist training in respiratory and general internal medicine in South Thames at St George's Hospital, King's College Hospital, and Royal Brompton Hospital
His research focuses on the lung microbiome in virus-induced asthma exacerbations, supervised by Prof Sebastian Johnston and Prof William Cookson. He combines clinical expertise in respiratory medicine with investigations into microbial dynamics in asthma pathogenesis.
