Ermo Säks is a visiting research fellow and PhD candidate at the Baltic Film, Media and Arts School (BFM) of Tallinn University, specializing in cinematic virtual reality (CVR), media communication, and storytelling. His work explores how CVR combines audiovisual techniques with immersive technologies to evoke emotions and authenticity, particularly in relation to the metaverse.
Research Interests: CVR focuses on bridging traditional cinematography with immersive media, analyzing field of view, lighting, and user immersion. His projects, such as GenAI and FilmEU+, investigate generative AI in creative practices and cross-institutional collaboration in film and media.
Projects & Expertise: He coordinates Tallinn University's interdisciplinary GenAI initiative, contributes to the WIRE and FilmEU+ projects, and serves as an EXU communication expert. With over 18 years in directing and producing for Estonian Public Broadcasting (ERR) and private-sector media, his work emphasizes efficient CVR development and metaverse exploration.
