Ermitte Saint Jacques is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology and affiliated with the African and African Diaspora Studies program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s College of Letters & Science. They hold a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Florida.
Research focuses on transnational migration patterns, globalization’s sociocultural impacts, race/ethnicity dynamics, gendered migration experiences, and social network analysis in West Africa, Southern Europe, and the Caribbean. Key regions of study include Haiti, Senegal, Spain, and the Bahamas.
Publications (2011-2012) explore Haitian diaspora practices in the Bahamas, transnational family obligations among West Africans in Spain, gender dynamics in Senegalese migration, and broader transnational household migration patterns.
