Astou Gueye is an Assistant Professor in the Department of French & Italian at the University of Pittsburgh. Her research focuses on contemporary African literatures, cinema, and popular culture, with an emphasis on how cultural productions shape social identities in Africa and its diaspora. She holds a Ph.D. in African Cultural Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2022), an M.A. in Comparative Literature from Université Gaston Berger de Saint Louis, and a B.A. in English and Anglophone Studies from Université Gaston Berger de Saint-Louis, Senegal.
