Erkan YILMAZ is an Assistant Professor at Adiyaman University's Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Professional Sciences. He completed his Pharmacy degree at Hacettepe University (1999) and earned a PhD in Pharmacognosy from Gazi University (2013). Currently, he serves as the Head of Department since 2020. His research spans pharmacognosy, medicinal plant chemistry, and biotechnological applications in textiles.
Research Interests: Focused on phytochemical analysis of plant extracts, DNA barcoding for biodiversity conservation, and development of antimicrobial textile finishes. Key projects include studies on Commiphora myrrha gel efficacy for aphthous stomatitis and functional textile surfaces using plant-derived nanocomposites.
Publications highlight interdisciplinary work in natural product chemistry and biomedical applications, including cinnamon's nephroprotective effects and vitamin D's role in mitigating chemotherapy injuries. He collaborates internationally on topics like Himalayan fruits' nutritional profiles and phytoremediation techniques.
Administratively, he leads departmental operations and oversees academic programs. His expertise is recognized through contributions to CRC Press and Springer publications on medicinal plants and herbal drug targets.
