Erin Schumacher

Erin Schumacher is an Assistant Professor and Assistant Director of Clinical Education in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at St. Catherine University. She holds a PT license with clinical practice experience since 2010 and has been an APTA credentialed clinical instructor since 2011. Her roles emphasize bridging clinical practice with academic training.

Education:

• Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (Movement Science emphasis) from Penn State University
• Doctor of Physical Therapy from Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences (2010)
• EdD in Curriculum and Instruction from St. Catherine University (2024)

Her research focuses on sustaining clinical education systems, advancing diversity in physical therapy education, and supporting neurodivergent students in DPT programs. She actively contributes to curriculum development and clinical practice integration in higher education settings.

As a faculty member since 2019, she combines over a decade of clinical experience with educational leadership, advocating for inclusive pedagogical approaches. She maintains membership in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
