Erin Reed-Geaghan, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences and a member of the Graduate Faculty II at the College of Graduate Studies, Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED). Her research focuses on neuroinflammatory mechanisms in Alzheimer’s disease, particularly the role of microglia and inflammatory mediators. She holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Case Western Reserve University (2010) and a B.A. in Biology from Colby College (2003).

Her research interests include microglial function, neuroinflammation, and the molecular pathways driving Alzheimer’s pathology. She has received prestigious awards such as the National Research Service Award (both pre- and post-doctoral) and a BrightFocus Foundation grant. Dr. Reed-Geaghan also teaches immunology and biotechnology courses and was honored with the 2021 Innovation in Teaching Award in Pharmacy.
Her publications explore CD14’s role in Alzheimer’s pathology, microglial depletion effects on amyloid plaques, and the origins of myeloid cells in neurodegenerative diseases. She collaborates with institutions like the Clinical and Translational Research Institute and maintains an active lab at NEOMED.
