Dr. Erin McDonnell-Jones serves as Assistant Professor of Teacher Education at an NAIA institution in Omaha, Nebraska, with dual responsibilities in academic instruction and athletic administration. She concurrently holds an adjunct position teaching English composition and acts as Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR), requiring collaboration across academic and athletic divisions.
Her educational foundation includes studies at Penn State University. With two years in her current role following a transition from Philadelphia, she leverages prior experience as a high school English teacher and soccer/basketball coach to inform her pedagogy.
Research interests center on Teacher Education with specialized focus on English pedagogy and international student integration. She actively documents the academic adaptation processes of students from England, Scotland, Germany, Japan, and multiple African/Central American nations, emphasizing cultural resilience in educational transitions. Her FAR responsibilities involve manual athletic eligibility certification due to institutional calendar constraints, requiring direct coach collaboration.
Dr. McDonnell-Jones maintains strong connections with NAIA through conference participation and consults with the FAR Association on eligibility protocols. Her teaching philosophy integrates real-world athletic administration challenges into Teacher Education curricula, particularly regarding regulatory compliance and student support systems.
