Erin Lux is a Research Fellow at the University of Strathclyde, holding a Doctor of Philosophy in History. Her research spans child development, mental health, cross-cultural communication, and historical penal policy. She contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to education and well-being.
Education: Master of Arts (2012) and Bachelor of Arts (2010) in English Literature & History from the University of Ottawa.
Research Interests: Lux’s work focuses on children’s care systems, neurodevelopmental disorders, and historical analyses of corrections and mental health policies. She led the Development of Children's Care Services in Scotland report for the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry, emphasizing institutional accountability and child protection. Her cross-cultural studies explore infant-parent interactions and cultural norms in caregiving.
Publications & Awards: Her 2022 study on neurodevelopmental disorders and technology in assessment has been widely cited. In 2023, she received the 'Making a Social Difference' Scottish Knowledge Exchange Award for collaborative work on child rights and prevention strategies.
Collaborations: Active in interdisciplinary projects, Lux collaborates internationally on topics like child well-being during pandemics and cross-cultural childcare practices.
