Erin Lloyd

Erin Lloyd is a Lecturer in the School of Human Sciences at The University of Western Australia, holding a dual appointment as an Adjunct Research Fellow. Her transdisciplinary expertise spans physiology, biomechanics, mathematics, data analytics, and advanced 3D imaging, with a focus on skeletal muscle research and neuromusculoskeletal conditions.

She prioritizes clinical translation, seeking to improve health throughout the lifespan via targeted interventions grounded in robust mechanistic understanding. A primary focus has been applying her transdisciplinary approach to understanding the mechanistic basis of disease progression in patients with dysferlinopathy, with recent expansion into broader neuromusculoskeletal conditions.

Her publication record demonstrates significant contributions to muscle physiology research, with articles spanning veterinary science, exercise physiology, muscular dystrophy research, and pharmacology. Her work shows consistent focus on skeletal muscle mechanics, oxidative stress markers, and therapeutic interventions for neuromuscular disorders, with increasing translational impact as evidenced by her grant funding and media attention.
