Erin Kidd is an Associate Professor of Theology and Religious Studies at St. John's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, St. John's University. She joined the university in 2014 and teaches courses in systematic theology and gender studies. Her research focuses on theological anthropology, feminist theology, and the intersection of theology with science and religion. Kidd holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Gordon College, an M.T.S. in the History of Christianity from the University of Notre Dame, and a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Marquette University.
Her work emphasizes the body as a central locus for theological inquiry, incorporating insights from cognitive science, trauma studies, and affect theory. She co-edited Putting God on the Map: Theology and Conceptual Mapping (2018) and is currently completing a manuscript titled Doing Theology from the Gut, which explores embodied theology through interdisciplinary lenses. Her scholarship addresses themes like epistemic injustice, race, and the ecological dimensions of theology.
