She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts (D.Mus.) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Master of Music (M.Mus.) from the University of Louisville, and a Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.) from Lawrence University. Her research focuses on vocal repertoire, particularly 18th-century opera, and she is an advocate for new music collaborations with living composers.
Recent engagements include roles in operas such as Die Fledermaus, The Turn of the Screw, and world premieres like Transformations by Conrad Susa and Dangerous New Avenues by Justin Giarrusso. She instructs courses in applied voice, vocal pedagogy, lyric diction, and musicology at Ripon College, and collaborates regularly with the college’s choral program and theatre department.
Bryan’s performances highlight her expertise in both classical and contemporary vocal repertoire, with notable contributions to Midwest premieres of works such as Laura Schwendinger’s Kay Ryan Songs. Her teaching and performance career emphasize interdisciplinary collaboration and the exploration of historical and modern vocal traditions.
