Sharon West

Sharon West is a Lecturer in Music (Voice) at Hamilton College. Her academic journey began with a B.Mus. from Bowling Green State University, followed by an M.Mus. from Manhattan School of Music, both earned on full scholarships.

As a lyric soprano, West specializes in Puccini and Verdi, with notable roles including Cio Cio San in Madama Butterfly and Mimi in La Boheme. Her career transitioned from performance to teaching and coaching, maintaining a full-time voice studio in New York City for 12 years.

West has collaborated on major productions such as Otello at San Francisco Opera House and Tristan und Isolde at Munich Staatsoper. Her expertise extends to vocal training for opera and classical singing.
