Dianne Baird is a Continuing Adjunct Assistant Professor at Queen’s University’s DAN School of Drama and Music. She specializes in voice instruction, lyric diction, and comparative studies between classical singing and musical theatre techniques. Her affiliations include the Royal Conservatory of Music and the National Association of Teachers of Singing.

Research Interests: Investigates technical and stylistic distinctions between classical vocal performance and musical theatre vocal techniques. Engages in pedagogical approaches to lyric diction and student engagement strategies in music education.
Performance Highlights: Soloist appearances with ensembles like the National Arts Center Orchestra, CBC recordings of Alexina Louie’s works, and operatic roles including Dido in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas. Collaborated with renowned artists such as Richard Miller and Jeannie LoVetri.

Teaching & Leadership: Teaches Lyric Diction, Vocal Methods, and Music Theatre/Opera Ensemble at Queen’s. Actively applies choral conducting expertise and student engagement research in her teaching.
