Erin Bratu serves as Assistant Professor in Vanderbilt University's Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science within the School of Engineering, and maintains an affiliate role at the Vanderbilt Institute for Surgery and Engineering (VISE).

Dr. Bratu's research centers on Medical Image Processing with specialized expertise in Biomedical Image Analysis and Image-Guided Interventions. Her work develops computational frameworks to enhance surgical navigation and diagnostic imaging through advanced algorithm design.
She actively participates in the NIH/NIBIB T32 training grant (T32EB021937), which provides substantial funding for biomedical imaging research and graduate training initiatives within her domain.
Dr. Bratu directs the Biomedical Image Analysis for Image-Guided Interventions Lab (BAGL), where her team focuses on real-time medical imaging solutions at the intersection of electrical engineering, computer science, and clinical medicine.
