Erika Osborne is a Professor of Painting and Graduate Advisor for the Painting Concentration in the Department of Art and Art History at Colorado State University (CSU). She holds a B.F.A. from the University of Utah and an M.F.A. from the University of New Mexico. Her research focuses on cultural connections to place and environment, blending creative practice with environmental and land art themes.
Her creative work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the Phoenix Art Museum, Carnegie Museum of Art, and Nevada Museum of Art. She has also been featured in five books on land and environmental art, as well as publications like New American Paintings and Art Papers.
Professionally, she teaches painting, drawing, and environmental field courses such as Mexico: Art Meets Environment and Land Arts of the American West. She has authored pedagogical works in books like Arts Programming for the Anthropocene: Art in Community and Environment and Making the Geologic Now: Responses to Material Conditions of Contemporary Life.
