Erika McLean is a Professor and co-program director of Abilene Christian University's residential M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) program. She also serves as an endoscopist and founder of Texas Swallow Diagnostics LLC, a mobile FEES program addressing swallowing disorders. Holding dual roles as clinician and educator, she emphasizes hands-on training in fiberoptic evaluations for graduate students.
Education: B.S. from ACU (undergraduate in SLP, 2010), M.S. in SLP from ACU (2016). Notable experiences include internships at Hendrick Medical Center and Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Abilene, a mission trip to Brisbane, Australia with WorldWide Witness, and leadership in establishing diagnostic innovations.
Research focuses on improving diagnostic efficiency through FEES technology, patient-centered therapy approaches, and clinical education strategies. Her work bridges academic training with real-world applications, preparing students to become transformative practitioners.
