Erika Kispeter is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Employment Research within Warwick Business School, University of Warwick. With a background in Gender Studies, she joined Warwick in September 2015 after working at the Centre for International Research on Care, Labour and Equalities at the University of Leeds and completing doctoral research at the Central European University in Budapest.
Her research examines how women and men's working lives are shaped by labor markets, work organizations, and welfare states, with special focus on work-family policies and class inequalities. Using mixed methods ranging from qualitative case studies to large-scale surveys, she investigates gender dynamics in labor markets across different national contexts, with particular expertise in post-socialist Hungary.
Dr. Kispeter's recent publications reveal a strong focus on contemporary challenges including the pandemic's impact on graduate careers, digital skills needs in the workforce, and the effects of Industry 4.0 on employment. Her work consistently bridges academic research and policy relevance, addressing issues of gender equality, labor market segmentation, and welfare state responses to economic challenges.
Her scientific recognition includes a Jean Monnet Grant from the European Commission (2012). She has secured funding from diverse sources including the European Commission, UK Research Councils, government departments, and charitable foundations.
As an active researcher, Dr. Kispeter leads multiple projects examining workforce challenges, including BEYOND 4.0 (2019-2023) on digital disruption impacts, educational psychology services evaluation, and rapid evidence reviews on pandemic workforce effects. Her collaborations span European institutions and UK research centers, demonstrating strong international research networks focused on labor market issues.
