Erika Barnett is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the Guildhall School of Business and Law, London Metropolitan University. She specializes in social housing law, with practice experience in legal aid firms and private practices, representing both tenants and landlords in areas such as anti-social behaviour, rent arrears, homelessness, disrepair, and injunctions.
Teaching responsibilities include module leadership for Housing Law, Civil Litigation, Professional Conduct and Regulation, Research and Legal Writing, and contributions to Civil Law and Practice, Criminal Litigation, Wills and Estates, and Interviewing and Advocacy. She actively supervises the pro-bono legal clinic, focusing on housing, employment, and consumer law.
Her expertise spans both academic instruction and practical legal advocacy, emphasizing real-world applications through work-based learning modules.
