Erika Bachiochi is a legal scholar and Professor of Practice at the School for Civic and Economic Thought and Leadership at Arizona State University. She is also a Senior Fellow at the Abigail Adams Institute and a Fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center (EPPC). She directs the Mercy Otis Warren Initiative for Women in Civic Life and Thought and serves as editor-in-chief of Fairer Disputations, an online journal.
Her research centers on constitutional law, political theory, women’s history, and Catholic social teaching. She advocates for a feminism grounded in natural law, relational anthropology, and the moral significance of motherhood and care. Her work critically engages modern autonomy-based feminism and reclaims the legacy of early pro-life feminists.
Her recent publications span law reviews, major media outlets, and public policy journals, focusing on abortion, women’s rights after Dobbs, the moral formation of women, and the societal recognition of caregiving. The themes across her articles include justice for mothers, the philosophical roots of women’s rights, and the integration of work and family life.
