Erik Sidenvall is a Professor of Practical Theology at Lund University's Centre for Theology and Religious Studies (Faculty of Humanities and Theology) since autumn 2024. His research bridges historical and contemporary analyses of religious spatiality, materiality, and existential sustainability.
- Key projects: Room for Ageing (Kamprad Foundation, €500k) and Cemeteries of the Future (PI).
- Editor-in-Chief of Swedish Theological Quarterly.
- Active in Cold War research networks (ReCoNet) and existential sustainability initiatives.
His recent publications focus on interdisciplinary existential resilience, vision interpretation in early modern Sweden, and theology-church collaboration. Awards include the Kungliga humanistiska vetenskapssamfundet election (2023) and Hallenblad Award (2022). He supervises PhD students across Lund and Glasgow Universities.
