Erik Möllerström is an Associate Professor in Energy Engineering and Head of the Department of Construction and Energy Engineering at Halmstad University's Academy of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Sustainability. He specializes in energy technology, with a focus on wind power (particularly vertical axis wind turbines), district heating, and energy use in buildings. His teaching includes courses like Wind Power, Solar Energy, and Sustainable Energy Systems.
He holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Physics from Uppsala University (2017) and an M.Sc. in Ecosystem Engineering from Lund University (2008). His research emphasizes historical reviews of wind turbine development, turbulence effects on energy extraction, and grid integration of renewable energy systems.
Recent publications include studies on district heating feasibility in mild climates, wind energy potential in Eritrea, and AEP prediction accuracy for Swedish wind farms. His work bridges historical analysis with applied engineering, addressing both technical and sustainability challenges in energy systems.
