Erik Jones

Erik Jones is currently the Director of the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies and a Professor of International Political Economy at the European University Institute (2021–present). He also holds the title of Professor of European Studies and International Political Economy at Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) since 2015, though on leave since 2021. His career spans significant roles at Johns Hopkins SAIS (2005–2015) and the University of Nottingham (2001–2004), including leadership positions in European governance and policy research.

Erik's research focuses on financial and central bank policies, international political economy, and European integration. He has contributed extensively to understanding EU monetary and fiscal frameworks, Italian political dynamics, and broader institutional governance.
