Erica Berry

Erica Berry is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting at the Knauss School of Business, University of San Diego. Her academic and professional profile bridges rigorous research with practical expertise in financial disclosure and forensic accounting.

• PhD in Accounting from the University of Oregon
• MPA and BBA from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater

Her research explores litigation, corporate misconduct, and the strategic and ethical implications of financial disclosure decisions. Recently, she has investigated the role of AI, such as ChatGPT, in accounting education. Her work has been published in Issues in Accounting Education.

Professor Berry has received the Robin and Roger Best Teaching Award (2020) for excellence in accounting pedagogy. She is an active member of the American Institute of Public Accounting and the American Accounting Association. Prior to academia, she worked as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Fraud Examiner, specializing in forensic investigations and compliance at PricewaterhouseCoopers and a Fortune 500 company.
