Eric Snyder is a Professor of Anatomic Pathology and Adjunct Associate Professor of Oncological Sciences at the University of Utah. His research focuses on lineage plasticity in cancer, particularly how molecular networks governing cellular identity are disrupted in lung and pancreatic cancers, altering therapeutic responses. He obtained a B.S. from Pennsylvania State University and both M.D. and Ph.D. from Washington University in St. Louis.
Research Interests: Dr. Snyder investigates the loss of cellular identity and acquisition of alternative differentiation states in cancer progression. Key projects include:
- Mechanisms of lineage switching in lung and pancreatic cancer, driven by transcription factors like NKX2-1 and HNF4α.
- Therapeutic implications of crosstalk between cell identity programs and oncogenic pathways (RAF/MEK/WNT).
- Development of strategies targeting vulnerabilities associated with tumor cell identity and driver mutations.
